Smith Crossing COVID-19 Precautions

Stay up-to-date with our community

Smith Crossing has established a wide variety of policies and protocols to protect residents and staff members from the spread of COVID-19. We strive to balance the need for these best practices with our mission to nurture residents’ lives with our community spirit and lifestyle.

Our leadership team follows health agencies’ directives by adjusting and adapting our daily way of life as experts share more about the transmission of the virus. We welcome opportunities to reunite families and to enliven our campus with shared activities and reopened amenities and services for residents, while remaining committed to rigorous safety precautions.

Commitment to communication

Communication is key as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of this pandemic. So, we publish weekly letters and periodic advisories to report changes that affect daily life—from family visits to communal dining—based on test results for residents and staff members and the status of our region in Illinois. We post them on this page and distribute them via email to everyone who registers to receive them. Plus, we host family meetings via Zoom. Email COVID19SmithCrossing@SmithSeniorLiving.org to register for email notices and to send your questions and suggestions so a Smith staff member can respond.
